Black & White

They say shades of grey so they can't pick sides. They say shades of grey and they don't pick sides.

They say shades of grey and don't pick sides. But. It's black and white and so many were killed and so many are being killed and so many more will be killed if people keep thinking shades of grey. There is always a position of power. The person with power oppresses / causes damage to a greater extent. Its about power. Power of the privilege, power of the government, power of the people. It's black and white.

On Compassion.

Compassion is an unstable emotion. It needs to be translated into action, or it withers. The question of what to do with the feelings that have been aroused, the knowledge that has been communicated. If one feels that there is nothing 'we' can do -- but who is that 'we'? -- and nothing 'they' can do either -- and who are 'they' -- then one starts to get bored, cynical, apathetic.
